General information
About Ideon
Ideon sells a wide range of new empty packaging, including plastic bottles and jars, plastic cosmetic applicators, plastic food pots and buckets, glass bottles, jars, votives, decanters and specimen tubes, aluminium bottles and jars.
We specialise in selling small quantities of containers, ideal for individuals, sole traders, small businesses and for people buying for one off events or parties, who don’t wish to buy bulk quantities. There is no minimum order quantity for our containers. We are also able to supply larger quantities if required.
Our full range of products can be found on our website. Prices include VAT, but exclude delivery. We have to charge delivery on all orders due to the nature of the products we sell. We get charged to send out items according to weight and bulk, so unfortunately we have to pass on this charge to our customers. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout according to the products that you order in one transaction. You are welcome to collect your order from us if it is easier or cheaper for you.

Order queries
How can I pay for my order?
If you order online, you will be taken to Worldpay to pay for your order. If you would prefer to pay by card over the phone you can do. We can send pro forms upon request and we can also take payment by BACS or cheque. However, please note that goods cannot be despatched until payment has cleared. The only exception to this is customers who have credit accounts, where payment is within 30 days.
Do I have to pay VAT?
If your order is being delivered to a UK address you have to pay VAT. The only time you do not have to pay VAT is if you are from an EU country and you have a valid EU VAT number. You can put this number on your account or input it at checkout to deduct the VAT from your order. VAT can only be deducted if your order is being sent to an EU country outside the UK, with a valid EU VAT number.
What is the minimum order quantity?
You can order from as little as one container or closure.
Can I change my order?
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be amended. If you would like to cancel your order and place a new one, please phone us, tel: 0161 367 1414 and we can refund you then place and take payment for your new order, or charge you the difference if your new order is more expensive than your previous one.
Delivery
How much is delivery?
Courier delivery charges are calculated on the weight and bulk of your order and your postcode. To check the delivery charge for your order, create an account on the website, add the items to your basket and click on ‘Checkout’. You will then be shown the cost for delivery, before you actually place your order. Very small orders are sent by Royal Mail.
Why is delivery so expensive?
The cost of delivery may seem out of proportion to the cost of the items ordered. This is due to the unique nature of what we deliver. Delivery charges are calculated on the weight and size/volume of box/es they are shipped in. You will find that you can sometimes order more items for the same courier fee.
How long does delivery take?
When you place your order, we endeavour to despatch it as soon as possible. We aim to despatch your order within 2-5 working days (subject to stock). When your order has been despatched, it will either go by Royal Mail or courier. Pleae note that we do NOT offer next day delivery.
Can I have a Saturday delivery?
We don’t offer Saturday deliveries unless there are special circumstances. Please be aware that we are charged more by our courier company for this service, which we have to pass on.
Do we deliver to BFPO addresses?
We can only deliver to BFPO addresses if your order is small enough to go via Royal Mail. If you go to checkout on the website and the carriage charge is less than £7.85 then your order will be sent via Royal Mail.
Which countries do we deliver to?
We predominantly deliver to the UK and we can also deliver to Europe. However, if you are in Europe (outside the UK) and wish to order a large/heavy lot of goods, we would advise that you arrange for a courier to collect from us. We do NOT deliver to anywhere outside Europe. We offer German, Spanish and French versions of our website.
Can I put sparkling/fizzy liquids in the plastic juice bottles?
No, you cannot put sparkling or fizzy liquids in the plastic juice bottles. They are intended for non-carbonated beverages.
Where are the cap size measurements taken from?
To ascertain what size of cap your bottle requires, measure the outer diameter of the top of the neck of your bottle (including the thread where the cap will screw on).
What is the resistance of HDPE for my chemical or substance?
Borealis has a list of chemicals and substances and polyethylene’s resistance to them.
What is the resistance of PET for my chemical or substance?
A list of chemicals/substances and PET’s resistance to them can be found here.
What is the resistance of glass for my chemical or substance?
Glass is highly resistant to water, neutral and acid solutions, concentrated acids and acid mixtures, chlorine, bromine, iodine and organic substances. Its chemical resistance is superior to that of most metals and other materials, even during prolonged periods of exposure and at temperatures above 100°C. Only hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and strong alkali cause appreciable surface removal of the glass (glass corrosion) at elevated temperatures (>100°C).
Can I hot fill my product?
Yes to a certain extent – into any glass product and up to a maximum 60°c for PET and HDPE bottles.
Are the products food grade?
All items sold on this website are made from food contact approved materials. A certificate of conformity is available on request.
Can I freeze plastic?
You cannot freeze PET. Freezing other plastic containers can depend on the product in the container. For example, if you put liquid in a closed bottle without leaving room in it for expansion, your container could crack or burst. Plastics can become very brittle if you freeze them.
